STUDENT ACTIVITIES-GET INVOLVED

MSU is a huge campus and there are numerous opportunities to get involved with many, many different groups.

Global Festival

This event is for the general public and held at MSU in the fall. Both performances and information/ cultural booths are typical. Check out info on the Global Festival page. We strongly encourage you all to participate.

International Speakers Program

The International Speakers Program (I SPEAK) matches FLTAs (and other international students) with community groups that want to know something about various countries. This could include going to local schools, senior citizen centers, library book clubs, etc. It’s a great way to meet many Americans.

International Friendship Program

Be matched with a local family and learn more about American culture. Most FLTAs participate in this program and find it to be very rewarding. (Learn more!)

Student Organizations

Some country specific clubs, some region, and some topical. Search the clubs.

Sports

Exercise facilities: MSU has great facilities and resources to get active, stay in shape and stay healthy. IM East is closest to Owen Hall. At the fitness facilities at MSU, there are group fitness classes, swimming, and sports. You can access information about how to get your free student membership on the RecSports page.

There are also intramural sports that you can participate in, that are designed recreational activities tailored specifically to the interests of students at MSU, where they can compete against other MSU students. It is very casual and friendly without a lot of time commitment.
