Combo‑X‑Change (often called “CX”): trade one of their traditional dining hall meals for a pre‑set “combo” meal at retail locations across campus.
1. What Combo‑X‑Change Is
Combo‑X‑Change is a weekly meal benefit included with MSU’s Silver, Gold, and Platinum (DineOn) dining plans. Instead of entering an all‑you‑care‑to‑eat dining hall, students can use a CX to pick up a quick, portable meal at many campus retail locations.
2. How Many Combo‑X‑Changes You Get
Students on DineOn plans receive:
- 12 Combo‑X‑Change uses per week
- The count resets every Sunday
- There is no daily limit, but there is a 15‑minute delay between CX uses to prevent rapid multiple redemptions
Unused CX meals do not roll over to the next week.
3. Where You Can Use Combo‑X‑Change
CX meals can be redeemed at many retail dining locations, including:
- Sparty’s mini‑markets & Sparty’s Market
- Starbucks
- Panera Bread (Minskoff Pavilion)
- International Center food court (e.g., Subway, Panda Express, Woody’s Oasis, MSU Bakers)
- MSU Union food locations
- The Workshop (STEM Building)
- Biggby Coffee
- Select mobile‑ordering locations
Availability can vary by location and hours.
4. What a “Combo” Includes (The A–B–C System)
Each CX meal follows a structured system:
- A item – Beverage
- B item – Entrée
- C item – Side or snack
- Some locations offer a BC item (a larger entrée that counts as both B and C)
Items eligible for CX are:
- Marked with a CX logo
- Color‑coded or labeled by staff
Example:
- Sparty’s Market:
- grain bowl (B), fruit (C), bottled drink (A)
- Protein bars and shakes (B), water (A), and some candies (C) – Favorite of Aizhan (25/26)
- Starbucks:
- TALL Beverage + one food item
- GRANDE Beverage + one bakery item
- VENTI Beverage
